Our History

Closets By Design was founded in 1982 by Rafael Feig, a residential developer specializing in condominiums and large custom homes. Originally from Europe, he had a unique understanding of just how critical the proper use of space is when designing homes.

With that knowledge, he began custom-designing the closets in all his housing projects to not only maximize space, but to also add a feature to the homes that would add real value -- both in terms of property value and quality of life. And, soon, Closets By Design was born.

Closets By Design began operations in a 2,000 square foot plant in Gardena, California. After nearly two decades of consistent growth, we've grown into a 51,000 square foot facility in Los Angeles, with 27 franchise locations nationwide.

Our years of experience, combined with our dedication to customer satisfaction, have earned us the enviable position of being both pioneer and leader in our industry.

The Process

It all begins with you. Closets By Design will send an experienced designer to your home to learn firsthand about what you need, and to help you envision the possibilities. Working within you budget, we will then design a customized system and present the plans to you. And, of course, the estimate is free.

All Closets By Design systems are manufactured locally, in state-of-the-art factories. Using only the most skilled craftsmen and the highest quality materials, we are so confident of our workmanship that we offer you a Lifetime Warranty on all our products.

Once your customized system is manufactured, an experienced craftsman will come to your home and install your system to the exact specifications. Before your eyes, you will see your dream system become reality.
