Q. What is precast concrete?

Precast concrete
is a high strength material poured into molds to produce landscape furnishings
with exceptional durability.
Q. What colors does it come in?
A. DesignCast landscape furnishings are available in 15 different colors, from natural gray and white, to pastel shades of peach, pink, buff and taupe. Earthy shades of tan, brown, palo verde and adobe are also available, and like all the colors, are mixed integrally into the concrete. This provides a maintenance free product for years of enjoyment.
Q. Do you deliver outside the Phoenix area?
A. Delivery is available within the greater Phoenix metro area, as well as throughout the southwest by courteous DesignCast drivers. Common carrier deliveries are also available throughout the country. Please call our office regarding any questions on freight or deliveries.
Q. Do you wholesale to nurseries?
A. Wholesale pricing is available for nurseries, landscape contractors and many commercial accounts. Please call for details.
Q. Do you do custom work?
A. Many custom precast items can be manufactured from customers own designs. Also logos and memorials can be either sandblasted or displayed on plaques in many items.
Q. Are they cool to sit on?
A. Like many products, the darker colors retain more heat. Lighter shades like white, sand, buff and taupe are much cooler to sit on than darker colors like charcoal, brown and adobe. This is a consideration when choosing benches or tables that will be used in full sun locations.
Q. Will they crack or discolor?
A. Precast Concrete is very durable and DesignCast products are reinforced to prevent cracking during normal use. Precast concrete should be handled carefully during placement to prevent chipping or cracking from dropping. The integrally mixed colors have proven to be very colorfast, and fading over time is minimal.
Q. What is the life expectancy of your product?
A. Items produced with precast concrete are very durable. Planters and tables are still in use today that were produced twenty or more years ago.
Q. What is the guarantee/warrantee?
A. All DesignCast products are warranted for two years from the date of delivery against any manufacturing defect or structural failure. Small stress cracks and surface grazing are a natural occurrence in concrete and not covered by warranty.
Q. What is the price range?
A. Prices vary widely depending on size, but in general precast concrete is very competitively priced, considering its longevity. Please call for current pricing
Q. How do I clean?
A. Normal cleaning can be done with a stiff brush, hose and mild detergent. Surfaces of benches and tabletops can be protected with an anti-graffiti sealer at a small up charge to prevent staining
Q. Are they heavy?
A. Most items are heavy, especially compared to clay products. We recommend having larger items delivered to the job site by our trucks and drivers, who are equipped and knowledgeable to handle them.
