Trex
Company, is the leader in alternative decking, manufacturing an innovative
wood plastic lumber that is revolutionizing the decking industry. Trex®
Easy Care Decking® is used for marinas, boardwalks, national parks
and residential and commercial decking throughout the country. A publicly
traded company (TWP-NYSE), Trex Company has a distribution network
of 2000 dealers throughout the United States and Canada.
What Is
Trex? Trex decking brings together some of the best properties
of wood and plastic. Compared to conventional decking lumber, Trex
decking offers so much more: outstanding durability without preservatives
or sealants, excellent workability and long lasting good looks.
What's
In Trex decking? Trex decking is made from reclaimed and
recycled materials. There are two "ingredients" in Trex decking
- waste wood fiber and reclaimed plastic.
The wood fiber comes primarily from woodworking operations, while the
plastic material is reclaimed mainly from stretch film and grocery sacks.
During the "mixing" of these elements, the plastic actually surrounds
and protects the individual wood fibers, giving Trex decking
many of its superior weather-resistant properties. Trex decking
contains no preservatives or additives.
In terms
of performance, Trex decking will not crack, warp or splinter.
It resist moisture, UV rays and insects, so it's perfect for pools and
spas. And Trex decking is the only decking of it's kind
to be code listed by the nations three major building code agencies.
Trex decking is not intended for structural members, such as
joists, beams or post.
To prevent
water damage, costly sealants must be reapplied regularly to most decking
surfaces. On the other hand, Trex decking never needs sealants.
With Trex, there are no more worries about splinters, damage
or the need for preservatives.
