Vinothèque
has been synonymous with wine storage cabinets for over twenty years.
The company was founded on a simple philosophy: build a high quality,
attractive wood cabinet that creates the ideal environment for the
aging of fine wines. This philosophy, along with our constant desire
to improve on the product's design and performance, has helped to
create a brand name that is recognized by wine connoisseurs all
over the world as a symbol of quality and reliability.
In
1995, this desire to improve performance resulted in the development
of WhisperKOOL air conditioning units specifically designed for
built-in wine cellars. WhisperKOOL cools slowly, but efficiently,
by maintaining temperature and humidity in a properly designed wine
cellar.
In
February of 2000, both product lines were sold to a new company,
which promptly changed its name from Nordicorp to Vinothèque
Wine Cellars. This name change symbolizes the company's desire to
continue improving its product quality, customer service and communication.
Vinothèque
Cabinets
Creating the perfect atmosphere for the proper aging of wines has
been the specific goal of Vinothèque Wine Cellars for more
than two decades. This guide is designed to help define the options
available to maintain your valuable investment.
Experts
agree that wine ages best at 53 to 57 degrees combined with a relative
humidity of 50 to 70%. Temperature stability is the key factor in
the maturation of fine wines. Humidity keeps corks moist and prevents
oxidation from ruining wine. Serious wine collectors employ specialized
equipment that maintains proper temperature and humidity balance.
Vinothèque Wine Cellars are designed to create this environment
and are crafted in a variety of sizes and aesthetic designs to enhance
the art of wine collecting.
With
a choice of two refrigeration systems, six different sizes, four
standard racking configurations and limitless stylistic options,
its never been so easy to find a Vinothèque wine cellar
to meet your individual needs.
Additional
Info
The cabinets are designed to cool to a maximum of 50°F or 30°F
cooler than the ambient temperature of the room. The units will
operate as necessary to maintain temperature and humidity.
Create
a detailed layout of your home and the path movers will take, making
sure doorways and corners are large enough to get through for the
final placement of the unit.
Never
install a unit with windows in an area exposed to direct sunlight.
Make
sure the flooring is sturdy enough to handle the weight of a fully
loaded cabinet, which can be substantial.
The
moving company hired to install your cabinet is the responsibility
of the distributor. Work closely with your distributor to avoid
incurring additional moving costs.
The
cabinet needs adequate ventilation in order to cool effectively.
Open rooms provide the best ventilation.
The
units operate best if they are filled to a minimum of 75% of their
capacity.
We
believe the QT Series to be the quietest cabinets available, however,
the motor will produce some noise. If noise is an issue, please
observe one in operation to gain an appreciation for its noise level.
Upon
receiving your order, the company will send you an owners
manual. Please review it immediately, so you can prepare for the
units arrival and set up.
