About Us:
  • In 1976, when the Wells family began selling blinds & shades, we were complete idiots. We learned by doing and made many mistakes. We soon became experts and have spent the last 25+ years helping our customers save money and avoid costly mistakes.
  • In 1980, Wells Interiors was the first company to offer discount prices nationally on name brand blinds & shades. Wells advertised in Better Homes & Gardens and other Home Decorating magazines. Wells Interiors grew to 20 stores and 20 million dollars in annual sales.
  • Today, there is the same great service & prices available from our San Ramon, CA showroom and order center. We sell blinds to our loyal customers all across the USA Most of our customers are repeat customers (many have purchased several times) or referred friends and relatives.

Until recently if you wanted a softer fabric look on your windows, you had to use a drapery or settle for a nonadjustable shade that was either up or down. Today, you have options, like the Hunter Douglas Silhouette. It is a cross between a drapery sheer and a blind. Silhouette features two soft sheer panels and a floating fabric vane inside that can filter light and the view or be rotated to a closed position for light control and privacy. Silhouettes can also be ordered with a battery operated remote control motorized option for hard to reach windows.

Other fairly recent innovations include child safety-conscious cordless honeycomb shades, pleated shades, and mini blinds by Levolor and Hunter Douglas. (Cordless wood blinds are being tested.)

A new generation of mini blinds and wood blinds are available without the holes in the middle of the slat that the strings run through. The newer versions close tighter and let in less light. They are referred to as de-light or hole-less.

Vertical blinds have also been updated with the addition of embossed PVC fabrics that look like fabric but are really made of plastic. These clean easily with a little water or light cleaning liquid.

New shutter innovations include PVC shutters that look like wood but are water resistant and easy to clean and maintain. Some are almost impossible to tell from real wood.
